BEAUTIFUL WEDDING ON A PERFECT SUMMER DAY!
Katie and Austen had hoped to marry in Bluemont, Virginia; but, as their June wedding drew near, their plans to marry there fell through. Fortunately, the gracious Lansdowne Resort was able to host their wedding day celebration despite the late change in plans.
Trouble loomed again as days of thunderstorms and heavy rains threatened to alter their outdoor wedding plans anew. But, it was all for the best! On their wedding day, the skies were blue, the clouds were white, and the plants were richly green. With temperature and humidity not too high, the day was perfect for their outdoor ceremony and their lively reception in the Resort's pavilion.
At Lansdowne Resort, I love the grand vistas of the golf course and surrounding parkland forest. And I love the tan-colored stonework pillars and walls, with the gorgeous natural light. The family and bridal party portraits were fabulous in these locations!
Katie also wanted a few portraits in a little garden nook. What a lovely spot! The lighting there can be tricky -- no protection from the afternoon sun -- but Katie and Austen's luck continued to hold. When we arrived there, the lighting was good, and we got some terrific portraits.
This is one of my favorites. With a beautiful touch of off-camera flash, the bride and groom just glow.
Congratulations, Katie and Austen, on a fabulous start to your married life! May your days together be full of love and celebration.
