SUGAR AND SPICE ... AND EVERYTHING'S NICE!
Emilia's six-month session was my first baby session since attending Sandy Puc's children's portrait workshop in Cape May. What fun to try out some new techniques! And Emilia's precious smiles were their own sweet reward.
Her mom Becca had seen my work online and then contacted me to schedule a session for Emilia. She explained, "We never got a chance to take professional infant photos but now she can sit on her own we figured it would be a great time to start!"
I agree. Six months of age is a wonderful time for baby portraits -- both by herself and with mom and dad.
For the traditional family group portraits, Emilia wore a pretty-in-pink summer dress. Her mom and dad, Kevin, wore dark clothes to keep attention on everybody's faces and expressions.
After the family groups, we created a "bath time" series of discreet baby portraits -- so adorable!
And, for our final set of baby portraits, Emilia wore a summer dress with a fun pineapple pattern. It worked beautifully in a colorful set with vintage wood blocks that spelled "EMILIA."
Of course, Emilia immediately decided to redecorate: Everyone knows a block in the mouth is better than a block by your side!
I love this panel of bath-time portraits, available in the 6-month session of my "Watch Me Grow!" Portrait Series. I love the storytelling and the wonderful interaction between mom and baby.
And I adore Emilia's smile.
