LYNETTE & KAMIL'S WEDDING:  THE GRAND EXIT

I am passionate about traditional well-crafted photography, but I also love to experiment with art pieces that do not necessarily abide by traditional photography rules.  

Lynette and Kamil exited the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More in Arlington, Virginia as husband and wife to a burst of cheers and congratulations from friends and family.  I captured this moment from inside the cathedral.  And, despite the extreme difference in brightness inside and out---far exceeding the dynamic range of a single photographic capture---, the image works!  

The glowing colors and quality of light inside the cathedral are glorious.  And, that burst of outside light from the sun, which washes out our view beyond the cathedral door, announces the transcendence of the bride and groom's new life together.  

For me, this photograph is an unusual, beautiful art piece.  I am proud to have captured such an impressionistic representation of Lynette and Kamil's transition to married life!
