NEW LOVE & OLD LOVES.

Don and Susan fell in love and recently married.  Their ceremony was a traditional service in the beautiful St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Rockville, Maryland, celebrated with children, grandchildren, and many other close family and friends.   

I loved the contemporary elegance of the church and especially admired its magnificent stained glass windows.  So I made sure to take a wide-angle view of the ceremony in progress (top photo).  And I loved creating artistic portraits of the couple using the stained glass as frames (bottom photos).    

One of the most touching parts of their ceremony was a special remembrance.  Don and Susan lit candles to honor beloved spouses, now departed, and the decades-long marriages they had enjoyed with them.  In moments such as these, I must remind myself not to be swept away by the moment but to capture a deeply seen, deeply felt photograph that will surely move them again and again.  In my photograph (middle photo), I think you can sense the depth of their emotion.  

A MEMORABLE NIGHT.

The wedding reception was a charming evening at the rustic Barns at Hamilton Station Vineyards in Hamilton, Virginia.  In mid-November, the sun sets early--and, that night, the temperature took a sharp drop while the winds kicked up, too!--so we were unable to enjoy the vineyard grounds.  But, inside The Barns, it was cozy and beautifully decorated.  Rick's Flowers provided the floral decorations; Shugar Shugar, the scrumptious dessert and groom's cake; Grandale Catering, the gourmet dinner; deejay Mark Burch of Everything Entertainment, the music; and Vows & Vines, the event planning and coordination.  

Congratulations, Don and Susan!  May you enjoy a lifetime of love together.
