NEW FAMILY, NEW FRIEND.  

If I photograph your wedding, you become part of the Roger Hammons Photography family!  And your family is treated to a complimentary portrait session each year to document how your family changes over time.  

I was so happy when Caitlin and Grant called to schedule their first year anniversary portrait session.  They are such a fun couple; I'm cracking up all the time I'm with them.  

I loved photographing them at a fun engagement session in the Shenandoah National Park, a touching wedding at the Top of the Town in Arlington, and a styled bridal shoot at Rust Manor House in Leesburg.  In the year since they first became husband and wife, they've acquired a new family member, Wally. So Wally had to be included in the new family portrait -- in fact, you might call him the star of session!  (I am sure that Wally would agree.)

In the studio, I photographed Wally by himself, with Caitlin and Grant individually, and with all of them together as a family.  To my amusement, Wally was a champ at posing for the camera, and the feral pig noises coming from behind my camera kept him fascinated, leading to a variety of great expressions (on dog and humans alike).    

To keep everyone's energy level high, we finished the session with environmental portraits at a nearby park.  The lush greenery and soft, late-afternoon light made a beautiful setting for our final images.  And, when Wally posed so proudly on rocks by a little stream, he looked every bit the master of the land.  

It is wonderful having a new best friend!
