PERFECT ROMANTIC SPRINGTIME 

Sweet romance, verdant foliage, and beautiful yellow flowers graced Briana and Shaun's recent engagement session.  The small community park in Ashburn, Virginia was a perfect location to capture their relationship's fun, laid back, and loving style.    

I like the traditional portraits we did of the two of them looking at the camera.  You can see how comfortable and happy they are with one another.  (It's been that way since they first met at a work holiday party in 2010.  After Shaun introduced himself to her, Briana recalls that they "danced the night away!")  The lush greens of the park make a lovely backdrop, and the outfits Briana and Shaun wore work so well together in this setting.

Such portraits will be treasured additions to the family photo album, so I want them to be as nice as I can make them.  The secret is great lighting and expression.  Briana and Shaun's portraits were created using directional natural light, balanced with a hint of off-camera flash.  This delicate use of off-camera flash on location requires a slower, more thoughtful approach, but I think it is often worth the extra effort.  

The slower, more thoughtful approach also works well for the intimate, romantic images that I love, and which drew Briana and Shaun to me.  "Your photography captures the candid moments between two people where everyone can see the immense love between the two," Briana explained.  

And I do absolutely love the evocative relational and environmental portraits from Briana and Shaun's session!  Briana and Shaun like to cuddle, hold hands, and kiss to display affection.  They like to joke a lot and not take themselves too seriously to make each other laugh.  I believe you can see their easygoing, loving relationship in my photographs.  

An engagement is full of intimate, romantic moments.  As an artist, it is my passion to capture and interpret that love!
