ROMANCE ATOP HOGBACK MOUNTAIN.

Rachel and Matt wanted to have a morning engagement session at Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Virginia.  What a lovely venue!

We started about an hour before the winery opened for tastings.  With some chance of rain that morning, we took advantage of the empty tasting room to capture a series of portraits there first.  The upscale rustic decor appealed to Rachel, who hails from Dallas, Texas.  From snuggling on the leather sofas, to smooching over wine barrels, to posing along a rough wood staircase under a quirky Dr. Seuss painting, Rachel and Matt had plenty of places in which to create fun romantic portraits.  

As opening time approached, we moved to the outside grounds to explore the vineyard and nearby picturesque pond.  Once again, there was a tremendous variety of locations from which to choose.  We were fortunate that the rain held off until the very end of the session.  We finished up as the first drops started to fall.  It had been a fun collaboration, and we succeeded in creating a wonderful series of distinctive portraits.   

I love a natural look in my environmental portraits.  And, I think, the featured photograph above exemplifies this style and feeling.  

I love how comfortable and relaxed Rachel and Matt look on the rocks by the pond.  I love the femininity of Rachel's white lacy dress and how Matt's light purple shirt matches Rachel's purple earrings.  I love the tender touches and the matching beautiful smiles.  You definitely feel the love between them.  

And, last but not least, I adore Rachel's cowboy boots!
