MARYLAND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION (MDPPA) IMAGE COMPETITION

Yesterday, the MDPPA held its most recent quarterly image competition.  As you might imagine, the competition among professional photographers was fierce; and the day was full of outstanding and inspiring work across multiple specialities.

I was thrilled that the three portraits I entered all received blue ribbons!

The coveted blue ribbons are awarded to photographs judged by an outside panel of distinguished Professional Photographers of America (PPA) master photographers to be especially merit worthy.

The blue ribbon reads "MERIT IMAGE MARYLAND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION."  The yellow corner reads "THIS PHOTOGRAPH ACCEPTED FOR EXHIBITION BY THE MARYLAND PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS ASSOCIATION."

The first two entries are portraits I captured as part of the workshop, The Bare Studio: Improvising Inside the Box, that I taught in July with my friend Michael at my Ashburn, Virginia photography studio.  The third is from a creative headshot session for a musician who plays the steel pan.

It's such a blessing when magic happens in the studio!
