WELCOME TO ROGER HAMMONS PHOTOGRAPHY

Deeply seen, deeply felt, deeply remembered.

We are a boutique Northern Virginia photography studio located in Ashburn, Virginia, specializing in wedding photography, portrait photography, and fine art photography.

We love to photograph Maryland weddings, Virginia weddings, and DC weddings of all traditions!  Whether yours is an opposite-sex marriage or a same-sex marriage, we'd love to get to know you and your unique love story.  And, however you and your family decide to celebrate two lives passionately shared -- religious or secular, traditional or avant garde, western or non-western -- we would be honored to capture those memories in wedding photographs that are deeply seen, deeply felt, and deeply remembered.

We provide commercial and lifestyle portrait sessions in our Loudoun County, Virginia studio or on-location within the greater Washington DC metropolitan area, including Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

We provide engagement photography sessions for MD VA DC wedding couples, whether we do the wedding photography or not.  These unique sessions are great fun, especially when the location and theme are tailored to the couple's love story.

Please enjoy my wedding photography, portrait photography, and fine art photography blog!  I hope you find the eclectic diversity of images -- as well as my thoughts on their design and creation -- both entertaining and educational.

In its simplicity -- just red metal tubing, black metal seat, black rubber wheels -- the design is rather clever. But, it looks odd, backwards, quirky, fun. You just don...

SUMMER-TIME MEMORIES. Sometimes we take photographs of people to record how they look; sometimes we take photographs of people to tell a story, to express feelings. I love this portrait of my grandson Gavin taken last week on our family vacation at Lake Anna in Virginia. It has a nostalgic, wistful feel. For me, it speaks of summer's end and of a...

Finding Lovely Environmental Portrait Locations | Northern Virginia Portrait Photographer

POCKETS OF PERFECTION I love the "doing" of a portrait session, whether in studio or on location. The collaboration between photographer and model is always fascinating, and the results can be magical. I also enjoy the "pre-doing," the preparatory work that goes into an on-location session, especially the site survey to scope out a new location....
