NEWBORN PORTRAIT SESSION

We've all been eagerly awaiting this little baby's birth, since I photographed Sarah and Nathan's garden pregnancy session last October.

In early February, almost on his expected due date, Jax "The Keeper" Greenwood made his grand entrance.  He tarried just two days, allowing Sarah to win her work's office pool by guessing his actual birth date.

We scheduled the newborn baby portrait session for Jax just six days after he was born.  To best capture that newborn smallness and fragility, I recommend bringing the baby to the studio within 10 days of birth.  Or, if you prefer, have the studio come to your home, as Sarah and Nathan had arranged.  (Portable studio equipment and camera will travel!)

I love this tender portrait of Nathan and his 6-day old son.  

The baby's fragility is framed by the father's muscular arms and torso, which provide a powerful triangular base for the composition.  Jax rests quietly, curled up comfortably against his daddy's chest, while Nathan's hands gently support and caress his beautiful son.
